Define artifact types and attributes, or use pre-defined artifact types included in CEE ALM templates, such as "Requirement" or "Issue".
Configuring artifact types at the domain level
Configure state models.
Configure relationship between attribute options.
Configure base permission for user attributes.
Configure artifact identifier.
Configure duplicate check.
Set up dependency rules.
Automatically add artifact types to projects.
Customizing artifact types at the project level
Add an artifact type to a project and make changes (such as add, remove, rename, reconfigure, or reorder some of its attributes, options, or dependencies) at the project level without affecting its global definition.
Managing artifacts
Relationships: Flag and track dependencies between artifacts through the artifact entry process or while reviewing artifacts.
Change tracking: Track information about the user who made the change, when the change was made, and any comments or attachments to the artifact.
Comment editing: Allow any parties interested in the progress of an artifact (e.g. customer support) to view and edit comments.
Pre-populate data: Create a frequently used set of data to pre-populate the artifact entry form.
Global, project, and individual templates: Make templates available on a global, project, or individual basis. Personal templates can be created by any user and are available only to the creator.
User associations: Custom user attributes allow users to track the artifacts they are responsible for or in which they have an interest.
Searching for artifacts
Run ad-hoc (one-time-use) queries or create stored queries for re-use.
Queries return lists of artifacts, including a user-specifiable subset of the artifacts' data.
Run single-project or cross-project searches by artifact ID, attribute values, created, or last-modified dates. Advanced queries provide many more options, such as filtering on whether a specific attribute changed from a particular value, and allow queries across several artifact types where the filter can include attributes shared by the types.
Web Services APIs
Retrieve artifacts by ID, execute a query, retrieve artifact metadata (the artifact type), and edit an artifact.
Build connectors to HP Quality Center and Eclipse via a Mylyn plug-in.
Use Project Tracker as a universal artifact hub with lifecycle stakeholders using the Web service to access it from third-party tools (e.g. sales force automation, requirements, or QA tools) and help developers manage issues through to closure.
