CollabNet's CUBiT named CODiE Award Finalist
The recognized leader in distributed development recognized for innovative build and test management platform
BRISBANE, Calif., January 23, 2007 — CollabNet, a leading provider of on-demand collaborative software development solutions, today announced that CollabNet Centralized & Unified Build, Integration, Test (CUBiT) is a finalist for the 22nd Annual CODiE Awards in the Best Distributed Computing Solution category. CollabNet CUBiT is an on-demand service for centrally managing build and test environments for globally distributed development teams, first introduced in November 2006. This is the second year in a row that a CollabNet product has been named a Software Information Industry Association (SIIA) CODiE award finalist.
CollabNet CUBiT unifies project managers, developers, and business users within a single development environment accessible from anywhere in the world. CollabNet CUBiT solves technical and process issues with an open framework that helps development teams standardize and automate tasks and share build configurations. By providing the industry's first multi-site development environment to incorporate the build and test phases of a software project, CollabNet CUBiT represents an innovation in application development lifecycle.
"The 2007 CODiE Finalists represent real winners, even at this stage of the contest," said Ken Wasch, SIIA President. "Competition is fiercer than ever and that makes selection as a CODiE Finalist a major achievement. All the companies on this year's list should feel justifiably proud of their recognition."
"It is an honor to be nominated by the only peer-recognition awards program of its kind," said Nick Bonfiglio, vice president of Worldwide Operations at CollabNet. "As the industry's only integrated on demand and globally accessible platform for build and test, CollabNet CUBiT is truly an evolution in software development."
CollabNet CUBiT allows organizations to:
- Increase visibility into utilization and assignment of capital-intensive infrastructure;
- Globally maintain governance and compliance of build and test configurations with version controlled system profiles;
- Deploy/provision build and test environments worldwide in minutes through a simple Web Services interface;
- Encourage the re-use of project-based build and test assets by storing these in the provided library;
- Centralize control of build and test environments while securely and globally distributing access to these environments;
- Improve build and test performance by keeping the environment in close proximity to code repositories.
Globalization has distributed development teams throughout the world. These distributed teams must transcend geographic, time zone, and cultural differences in order to maintain productivity and avoid duplication of effort. This is causing a paradigm shift in software development from a centralized LAN-based approach to a distributed Collaborative Development Environment approach. CollabNet's flagship product, CollabNet Enterprise Edition, is the industry-leading Collaborative Development Environment, which help organizations transform how their development teams work.
The 2007 Codie Awards will be presented at a gala event on April 17 at the historic Palace Hotel, San Francisco, CA. Winners will be decided by members of the SIIA.
