BRISBANE, Calif., July 18, 2006 — CollabNet, the leading provider of on-demand collaborative software development solutions, today announced the closing of 61 customer transactions in the first half of 2006. Among these customers are market leaders Bell South, Electronic Arts, Merck and Red Hat who will partner with CollabNet to integrate their global operations, development teams, and business partners. Each of these customers use CollabNet's on demand, distributed software development solutions to enable global development teams to collaborate more effectively over the Web, improving the overall quality and success of software projects. CollabNet's customers are able to reap the proven benefits of CollabNet's on demand model, including high value, low cost, faster time-to-market, easy implementation and scalability, without having to compromise enterprise needs for high security, reliability and data privacy.

"The secret to our customers' success is that they are more productive in a shorter period of time," said Bill Portelli, CollabNet President and CEO. "Our web-based collaboration solution enables global software teams to leverage resources from partners, off-shore services and teams around the globe resulting in more innovative, higher quality software. The competitive pressures from our flattened world demand organizations find more agile and collaborative ways of working together and we help our customers meet this challenge and compete successfully in the global economy."

CollabNet's technology is built on the collaboration and participatory best practices pioneered by open source communities and enables teams, either in enterprises or development communities, to work together seamlessly via the Web. CollabNet's customers will be using both CollabNet's Enterprise Edition and Community Edition solutions. CollabNet Enterprise Edition integrates tools for software development, project management, knowledge management, and communication management in a Web-based software development environment. "Red Hat is the most successful open source company," said Matthew J. Szulik, Chairman and CEO, Red Hat. "We turned to CollabNet to help ensure the success of our latest open source community development project, 108, https://www.108.redhat.com/. The goal of this new project is to provide enterprise developers with real solutions for open source technology - industry leading support from multiple experts, substantive information, resources and community interaction.
