Project metrics reports landing page
You can configure and save two reports per project in the Project metrics landing page.
Project tools > Project metrics
When the project gets created, these slots will be empty by default. The project owner can then configure and save those reports. Each of the two reports can either be PIT or Trend report using PT or SVN as the Project tool. Once configured, the reports can be edited any time at a later point. The landing page displays a hyperlinked report-let. Clicking on the report-let image will display the full fledge report with tabular data and other options like URLs and exporting.
Project Tracker metrics
The Project Tracker reports are dynamic; meaning the data that you see today may not be the data that you see tomorrow. The Project Tracker PIT reports are always as of last ETL date. Similarly, the Project Tracker trend report does not use absolute dates; it uses relative dates, like last 7 days by day. So the count displayed in the reports will vary each time ETL is run depending on the Project Tracker activity in the metrics.
Subversion metrics
The Subversion reports can be dynamic as well as static. Static Subversion reports can be defined by designating some absolute dates in trend report configuration or by designating a specific date in the PIT report. So, such reports are static, meaning the count displayed in the reports will not vary each time ETL is run.
Subversion activity metrics reports landing page
You can configure and save two Subversion activity reports per domain in the Subversion activity metrics landing page.
Administration > Metrics > Subversion activity
Initially when the site is setup, these slots will be empty by default. The domain owner can then configure and save those reports. Each of the two reports can either be PIT or Trend Subversion report. Once configured, the reports can be edited any time at a later point. The landing page displays a hyperlinked report-let. Clicking on the report-let image will display the full fledge report with tabular data and other options like URLs and exporting.
Snapshoting (or) Exporting the report
A report once generated can be exported to various formats for further processing or posting somewhere on your site. Here you capture a snapshot of the system at the configured time. It does not change, unlike the report that is configured in the Project metrics landing page, which is dynamic. The following formats are allowed:
pdf: Use this format if you do not want further processing of data and the intention is only capturing the snapshot of the system at the time of export. Both the graphical and tabular views are exported. Pdf is also useful when the target audience is working on different platforms. Pdf is supported by most of the platforms used today.
xls: Use this format if want to further process the data. Only the data is exported to excel and not the chart. If the charting and analysis capability supported in the product does not answer the questions, then use this export option to get the data out of the system and use the charting and analytical capability of the excel tool to get more info.
csv: Use this format when you don't have a graphics tool available but still want the data. This is also a convenient format for further processing using a program or script. Many tools like Microsoft Excel can process the csv format.
Drilling down the Subversion report (Itemized report)
In addition to the above features, the Subversion reports also have the drill down view feature. Drilling down from the graphical view of the Subversion reports (only) gives you the detailed list and information of the items which constitute the actual count shown in the Subversion reports. This view is also known as "Itemized report" view.
Pre-defined Itemized reports (Canned Subversion reports)
These reports are available for the domain owners and useful to determine the project activity, file downloads activity, and user activity in the site. These are more specific to Subversion and are pre-defined itemized reports. There are totally three such reports available at the domain level:
- Most active projects in the last week - By Subversion activity, By Subversion commits, By Subversion downloads
- Most active users in the last week - By Subversion activity, By Subversion commits
- Most active downloads in the last week
