The Subversion activity metrics tool can get you the site activity statistics based on SVN client transactions in the entire domain or a custom list of projects on any given day or over a period of time. It can also provide the file downloads report based on the downloads from ViewVC in the entire domain or a custom list of projects. For example, the system can generate a report on how many projects are active in the domain within a specific time frame.
It helps the domain owners and community managers in the following ways:
- Determine project participation, activity, and visibility.
- Analyze the performance, size, and health of the site.
- Get size/visibility metrics around file downloads.
Domain activity report
This report provides the count of active projects in the domain based on the selected criteria for SVN client transactions.
Assume that on Day 1 there was 1 active project, 1 on Day 2, and 4 on day 3. So if you generate a Subversion activity report on active projects in the domain on these three days, the output will be:

You see the following information from this chart.
- There were 1, 1 and 4 active projects in the domain on Day 1, 2, and 3 respectively.
Drilling down the above report gives the names of those active projects and the count of SVN activities that happened against each of those projects. The itemized report of the previous chart's drill down will look like this:

Active users report at the domain level
This report provides the count of active users in the entire domain or in the selected set of projects based on the specified criteria for SVN client transaction.
The drill down from this report shows the itemized list of the names of those active users and the count of activities performed by each of them.
File downloads report at the domain level
This report provides the count/size of file downloads done in the entire domain or in the selected set of projects. As in other domain-level reports, this also provides the drill-down feature which gives the detailed itemized list of the file names, URL to ViewVC page, and count/size of each file.
Pre-defined Itemized reports
Domain owners can also view the pre-defined itemized list of top N active projects, active users, and active file downloads in the last week.
