    TortoiseSVN

Using TortoiseSVN, developers and other project members don't need to use the Subversion command-line client to perform Subversion-related tasks. TortoiseSVN provides a graphical user interface for tasks like viewing the status of source code, updating a Subversion working copy, committing changes, browsing repositories and resolving conflicts. TortoiseSVN makes most Subversion client commands available inside Windows Explorer.

    Key Features of TortoiseSVN

    • Tight integration with Windows Explorer: no need to access Subversion through its native command-line interface.
    • Easy to learn: TortoiseSVN requires no specific training. Users familiar with Subversion will see immediate productivity improvements and users new to Subversion will learn quickly how to version their code.
    • Extensive coverage of Subversion commands: TortoiseSVN covers a wide range of Subversion client commands.
    • Additional GUI tools: TortoiseSVN extends the Subversion client experience with additional tools (for example the ability to browse the repository or graphically resolve conflicts between files).

    Integrated with Windows Explorer

TortoiseSVN is implemented as a Windows shell extension, seamlessly integrating the plugin with Windows Explorer. Users access Subversion commands by right-clicking inside Windows folders or on selected files. TortoiseSVN presents a context-sensitive menu with Subversion commands. When needed, subsequent dialog boxes complete Subversion settings before a command is executed.

    TortoiseSVN Language Packs

TortoiseSVN has been localized into nearly 30 languages from around the word. For most of the languages an integrated spellchecker is available for Subversion commit messages. Many languages have a translated manual as well.
