Maria Carlile
Vice President and General Counsel
Maria Carlile joined CollabNet as General Counsel in October, 2000 from being the principal in her own law firm where she acted as outside general counsel for high technology clients, including CollabNet, specializing in software licensing and development and intellectual property.
Carlile was Vice President and General Counsel for the Finance Division and co-head of the Asset Securitization Department of Comdisco, Inc (NYSE:CDO) from October 1978 to February 1992. In that hybrid legal/business role she negotiated and supervised the closing of transactions involving $1.2 billion annually of private placements, loans, leases, and receivables. She also supervised and coordinated the structuring of public pools of asset backed receivable financings and represented Comdisco Venture Leasing and Comdisco Disaster Recovery Services. In addition, Carlile hired and supervised both foreign and domestic outside counsel for Comdisco, Inc.
Prior to 1978 Carlile was Senior Counsel to Bank of America NT & SA (NYSE: BAC) where she provided advice to the World Banking Division and key executives.
Carlile has her law degree from Boalt Hall, University of California at Berkeley and her undergraduate degree from Stanford University where she also attended Stanford in France and Stanford-in-Washington.
